The essence and importance of academic mentoring for the professional development of students (review of foreign literature)

Abstract


The paper presents an overview of foreign publications on the organization of mentoring programs. The definitions of the concept are highlighted, reflecting its essence from the perspective of scientists from different sciences. The important positive importance of academic mentoring in the professional development of students, its impact on career building, participation in research, adaptation in the student environment, stress reduction and other negative aspects are noted.
