Medical tourism: what worries a potential patient (review of foreign publications)

Abstract


The article contains brief information about the situation with medical tourism in the world. The reasons for encouraging patients to seek medical help abroad are considered: the high price of a service at home, its long wait, legal barriers to obtaining a specific service and others. The medical, legal and ethical risks accompanying receiving medical care abroad are described. The list of issues of concern to potential medical tourists is presented, among them: confirmed information about the medical organization and the specialists working in it, information about services, language and visa support, etc.
