It is shown that during the period of the beginning of school education, the child gradually learns independent oral care skills, however, the organization of preventive behavior, the choice of hygiene products, diet and time to visit the dentist remain largely the responsibility of the family. A childs dental literacy is interpreted as a set of knowledge, practical skills, motivation, and the ability to apply information to maintain oral health. A model of parental influence on dental literacy of a younger student is proposed and the directions of improving the effectiveness of family dental education are identified.
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>dental literacy</kwd><kwd>oral health</kwd><kwd>parents</kwd><kwd>primary school students</kwd><kwd>caries prevention</kwd><kwd>oral hygiene</kwd><kwd>dental education</kwd><kwd>family behavior</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>стоматологическая грамотность</kwd><kwd>здоровье полости рта</kwd><kwd>родители</kwd><kwd>младшие школьники</kwd><kwd>профилактика кариеса</kwd><kwd>гигиена полости рта</kwd><kwd>стоматологическое просвещение</kwd><kwd>семейное поведение</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Khodadadi E., Niknahad A., Sistani M.
