The study was based on 469 invention patents selected from a larger set of medical patents. The analysis covered annual patent dynamics, distribution by ICD-10 diagnostic groups, types of inventions, right holders, and their geographic affiliation. The results show that most patents are related to treatment, diagnosis, and prognosis. Russian right holders predominate in the dataset, while the main centers of patent activity are Moscow, Tomsk, and St. Petersburg. At the time of analysis, 46.9% of patents remained in force.
