A sequential assessment framework is analyzed: source ? infrastructure ? wastewater treatment ? receiving ecosystem ? accumulation zones. The need to combine targeted analysis of priority compounds with non-targeted methods, including high-resolution mass spectrometry, is substantiated to ensure comprehensive identification of contaminants. The importance of integrating chemical, biological, and ecotoxicological methods, including the assessment of antimicrobial resistance, is demonstrated. High variability of emissions and the need for long-term monitoring are highlighted. Key principles of a comprehensive, risk-based approach aimed at improving the reliability of environmental impact assessment are formulated.
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>environmental impact of pharmaceutical production</kwd><kwd>water pollution</kwd><kwd>targeted monitoring methods</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>экологическое влияние фармацевтических производств</kwd><kwd>загрязнение вод</kwd><kwd>таргетные методы мониторинга</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Larsson D.
