Показаны трудности и недостатки работы предприятий, производящих лекарственные средства, меры, принимаемые Наркомздравом по налаживанию и максимально быстрому введению в строй производственных мощностей. Приведены данные о конкретных мероприятиях, позволивших покрыть дефицит кадров, минимизировать потери, связанные с утратой многих заводов и эвакуацией предприятий в восточные регионы страны, оптимизировать производственный процесс. Указана роль стран антигитлеровской коалиции в обеспечении медикаментами Советского Союза в самые тяжёлые первые годы Великой Отечественной войны.
